I specialise in anxiety problems and peak performance.

I was a junior tennis champion and a professional actress/musician before becoming a therapist and so have a particular interest in the treatment of performance anxiety (stage fright, interviews, concerts, presentations, examinations) and peak performance. I have worked with many actors, singers, musicians, sportsmen and executives to maximise potential and attain goals. I offer special rates for Equity members.

I also specialise in treating single incident trauma such as car accidents and assaults. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing which is an evidence-based treatment for trauma. See Supporting Therapies.
I combine psychotherapy with hypnosis and a range of other techniques. See Supporting Therapies.
Consultations usually take one hour. The number of sessions will depend on the nature of the problem. The breaking of habits (eg. smoking), will usually take one session, whereas lifelong problems may need a series of consultations.

Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic application of a trance state which occurs normally between sleeping and waking. The trance state is used to make deep and lasting changes to thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Hypnotherapy is very effective in releasing past trauma and de-conditioning habits.

Even though our subconscious only ever seeks to promote our well being, it can often be the recipient of faulty learning from the past, leading to low confidence, under achievement and sometimes worse. Often it over-protects us by raising our fears and anxieties to phobic levels to keep us from a particular activity or stimulus it sees as dangerous. Using hypnosis in a therapeutic way, hypnotherapy can facilitate a subconscious relearning process.

PTSD: "You are clearly gifted to be a therapist in this field and I have done nothing but talk about how AMAZING you were/are your calm and kindness radiates from you and made me feel instantly comfortable in your company, considering my then condition and being complete strangers about an unknown science I think that’s pretty amazing. ” Rachael Beeton, victim of New Zealand earthquake.
